Creative is the nation's largest bus dealership and is proud to offer products from 18 of the top commercial and school bus manufacturers. With multiple locations throughout the United States, Creative is able to service customers in all locations. We are currently accepting resumes for a Buyer/Purchasing Agent at our Phoenix, AZ  location. This is a full time position that requires a hardworking, dependable and reliable individual.


 This position is involved in a wide range of purchasing functions. Assignments require ability to make decisions independently and solve problems. Work involves development of specifications and/or evaluation criteria for bidding, service agreements, and contracts.


  • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Works under immediate supervision
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
  • Issue Purchase Orders for stocking, internals and warranty
  • Maximum PO amount to be set for purchases
  • Order the correct parts for all RFI's
  • Issue Sublet Purchase Orders
  • Keep in communication with the Service department about the lead times for orders related to scheduling
  • Follow up on all PO's that are outstanding
  • Follow up on all back orders to get eta on delivery
  • Assist with receiving, invoice questions and vendor credit management with vendors
  • Contact service and sales when parts arrive
  • Make sure the correct part numbers are being utilized
  • Update the pricing of parts in Sys2K
  • Help with requests for inventory transfers to other CBS locations and process internal transfers once inventory confirmed
  • Metrics reporting based on vendor performance
  • Process internal purchase requests for consumables
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Required:

  •  High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years’ purchasing experience
  • Understanding of the vendors that the Company uses and the parts that they will need to order.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and responsible
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel and Sys2k
  • Professional demeanor and cooperative attitude
  • Understanding of mechanical/parts and aspects of buses is a plus

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to travel as required. 
  • Must have the ability to board vehicles, and inspect under vehicles if necessary. 
  • Must have the ability to perform all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and in a safe manner.
